Cat carriers are essential to protecting your cat while traveling

Cat carriers play an important role in safely transporting your cat. Not only do they provide a measure of safety for your cat but if your cat is like mine he is unsafe to have free in the cab of a vehicle.

Cat carriers and cat cages prevent your cat from distracting you from driving and causing an accident.

When going to the vet a cat carrier is great to have. The cat feels more secure in the cage and is less likely to get over excited and get loose in the vets office.

There are many types of cat carriers

If you only need a cat carrier for the occasional visit to the vet then a simple cardboard cat cage will be sufficient. It will keep your cat from getting loose in the vets office or in the car.

If you travel a lot then you might want to consider a steel or plastic cat cage. They provide a better environment for a cat on a long car trip. The wire mesh allows for more ventilation then a cardboard cat carrier. Plus a wire or plastic cat cage tends to be larger then a cardboard carrier which allows your cat some mobility.

Remember to always provide your cat with good ventilation and plenty of fresh water while traveling and remember to never leave you cat in a locked car.
